Land & collecting status

Permission required before collecting

Requires landowner or agency permission before any collecting. Do not enter without explicit authorization.

Access note: Old pits in the Arkona area, close to Rock Glen, known for brachiopods, small corals and trilobites. The pits are on private property, and any visit not arranged through the London Gem, Mineral and Fossil Society counts as trespassing. The society runs field trips here several times each summer, so join one of those.

Collecting rules in Canada are set provincially and by land owner. Crown land and many public beaches allow casual hand collecting, while provincial and national parks are off-limits. Confirm the rules for this site before you dig.
