About Lytton Panning Reserve (Site 1)

Provincial panning reserve of 27 ha on the Fraser River north of Lytton, where a gold dredge worked the Van Winkle Bar from 1899 to 1904. You do not need a Free Miner Certificate. Use a hand pan and hand shovel only: no metal detectors, sluices or dredges. The province's map shows Indian Reserve land around it, so plan your route in before you go.
