About Cayoosh Creek Panning Reserve
Small provincial panning reserve of 11 ha where Cayoosh Creek meets the Fraser River at Lillooet. You do not need a Free Miner Certificate. Use a hand pan and hand shovel only: no metal detectors, sluices or dredges. The placer tailings by the Lillooet bridge, about 400 m north, are known for jade, agate and jasper. The province's map shows a private parcel inside the boundary, so keep to the Crown land.
