Land & collecting status

Confirm rules before collecting

Land status here is not confirmed. National and provincial parks prohibit collecting, while Crown land and many beaches allow it. Verify with the managing agency before you collect.

Access note: Old corundum mine on Robillard Mountain. The Ontario Mineral Inventory gives the way in: Highway 517 to Craigmont Road, park at the old mill foundations, then follow the ATV trail up the hill. The record says nothing about who owns the land. The Ottawa Valley Mineral Club lists a field trip to the mine, so going with a club is the safe way to visit.

Collecting rules in Canada are set provincially and by land owner. Crown land and many public beaches allow casual hand collecting, while provincial and national parks are off-limits. Confirm the rules for this site before you dig.
