Land & collecting status
Permission required before collecting
Requires landowner or agency permission before any collecting. Do not enter without explicit authorization.
Access note: Beryl and associated minerals are found in pegmatite exposures, weathered pegmatite soil, and the dumps of old workings around Elberton. These are private and worked-out mine properties, so this is permission-required collecting: locate and contact the current landowner before entering, and do not assume road frontage equals legal access. Avoid active granite quarries, which are off-limits.
Public-land rules vary by agency, season, and field office. The RockHoundR app pulls live BLM, USFS, NPS, and tribal overlays so you can see exactly which agency manages the ground at this spot.
